Video: This is what iPad launch day looks like from the front of the line

Curious about what kind of madness that surrounds a retail launch of a hot new Apple product, but can’t get yourself to stand in line for hours on end? Missed our 16 hour livecast of the iPad launch lines at the Palo Alto Apple Store, did you? Well, you’re in luck! Thanks to the magic of HD video, you can get a feel for what it’s like to stand at the front of a line at an Apple store as they open the doors and kick off the launch of the highly anticipated iPad.

Not only were there hundreds of people in line to buy an iPad on the morning of April 3rd, there were masses of media and looky-loos hanging out around the front entrance to the Apple store. The video tells the story better than we can in words, so we’ll let you get to it. Enjoy!

That video showed only about 30 people standing in line at the most. Where’s the hundreds? False.

It actually wraps around the building. We showed the line in the live-stream, but didn’t manage to catch the lines with the HD vid cam. Apologies for the confusion.
