With all of the iPhone OS 4.0 news coming out today, one bit of news immediately struck a chord with me. Apple has taken it upon itself to unify iPhone gamers by introducing ‘Game Center’.

Game Center will work similar to how Xbox LIVE & Playstation Network do. You’ll have a buddy list of friends on the Game Center network, online leaderboards, matchmaking, and achievements.

Not much else is known at this point like if it’ll be a free service, will it be it’s own app, or will it just run behind the scenes on Apple’s servers, but as soon as Apple discloses all of the tasty tidbits on Game Center, you bet your Ole Uncle Danny will chime in!
