After the iPhone and Android, GOGII has released an “optimized for iPad” version of its popular free SMS app – textPlus. Relying solely on WiFi connection (at the moment), the application allows texting conversations to transition seamlessly between an iPad and another mobile device with textPlus installed.
As you probably know (we’ve covered textPlus in the past), it enables sending of SMS to any mobile phone in the U.S. and Canada, as well as text from app to app anywhere in the world, for free. Moreover, textPlus supports both one-on-one and group texting in a chatroom-like environment using reply-all functionality. Best of all, no phone number is required to receive texts — by using textPlus’s permanent short code 60611, users from any phone can reach textPlus users.
Interested? You certainly should be. After all, textPlus has been downloaded for more than 5.5 million times since launch in June 2009, with more than 2 billion messages sent.
