Mobile ad platform Millennial Media announced the PadMedia Creative Suite, with new creative ad formats built specifically for the iPad. The code is apparently already complete and will be deployed after testing with beta publishers is complete.

Advertisers should know that the PadMedia Creative Suite includes standard mobile ad units as well as new “optimized for iPad” ad formats, including:

  • Floating Canvas – which expands a rich media ad upon click.
  • RTP (Return-to-Play) – specifically geared towards entertainment developers, these ad units allow consumers to respond to an ad, pausing their application experience and resuming when they are ready.
  • Motion Creative – which become interactive when the user turns or rotates the iPad in different ways.
  • Full-page Interstitials – the most annoying of all ad units, as you probably already know.

Finally, it’s worth adding that Millennial Media plans to support other tablet computers in the near future, though they haven’t revealed which devices exactly they’re talking/thinking about.
