iPads not allowed in Israel

While you can still make a fortune selling iPads on eBay to foreign countries, your customer base just got a little smaller because Israel has banned the “magical” tablet due to issues with the WiFi.

“The iPad device sold exclusively today in the United States operates at broadcast power levels [over its WiFi modem] compatible with American standards,” an Israeli official told Haaretz. “As the Israeli regulations in the area of WiFi are similar to European standards, which are different from American standards, which permit broadcasting at lower power, therefore the broadcast levels of the device prevent approving its use in Israel.”

I don’t know if you’ll be able to sneak one by too, as the customs officials have been ordered to confiscate the device. Unfortunately, it looks like Israeli Apple fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the device, as the international debut has been delayed at least a month due to strong U.S. demand.

I’ll rub it in a little more by having you check out our unboxing and setup video below.
