As a big fan of paying parking (and other services for that matter) using my mobile phone, I like giving Parkmobile some space on IntoMobile. However, I find important to emphasize their service is too complicated, making it a bit stupid. Why I need to register to pay parking is beyond me. God (or whoever) invented Premium SMS for that reason – simply send a text message to some number and you’re monthly bill will be increased for the amount you need to pay. It’s how mobile parking payment works in most of Europe.

Anyway, Parkmobile announced that its service (they call it “revolutionary”) is now available for the residents and visitors of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The company has partnered with Lanier Parking Solutions, to allow parking payment by phone at all Lanier locations in the Myrtle Beach area.

As I said, prior to using the service you must register. You can either call 877-PARK-714, or sign-up from their website. Once that is set, you can finally forget the stupid paperwork (or whatever) involved in “traditional” parking payments.
