After securing a deal with local MVNO – a2network, Novatel Wireless keeps pushing in the Land of the rising Sun. Their new partner is Inter Communications, which will also offer the MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot in Japan.
If you’ve been living under the rock for the whole last year and have no clue what’s MiFi all about, here’s what you should know (from the press release):
The Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 represents the industry’s first Intelligent Mobile Hotspot, a new category of mobile broadband that lets users put their world of content, services and connectivity in the palm of their hand. The MiFi platform creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between multiple users and up to five Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices and multimedia players. The MiFi 2372 platform supports 800/850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz bands for local service in Japan, as well as for global roaming.
The MiFi 2372 sings along any WiFi-enabled device, no matter which OS it runs. Interested Japanese should visit Inter Communications’ website for more information on how to grab a MiFi unit.
