Nevermind iPhone and their drama with Flash for just a second. Adobe has announced that they’ll be moving forward with their plans with Android, beginning with a preview at Google I/O in May, and a public launch in June. RIM, Palm, Microsoft, and Nokia all get a nod for their participation with Flash in the announcement, but Adobe really has been making the most immediate progress with Android. RIM has made plenty of noise about getting cozy with Adobe, but I have a feeling it will be awhile before we see Flash on BlackBerry.
If you haven’t been following the drama lately, Adobe said “screw yourself Apple” for closing the ability for third-party development tools to create iPhone apps (precicely what Adobe’s upcoming Creative Suite 5 was going to do), and Steve Jobs basically said “screw you too” right back. It seems like the battle lines have been drawn – now it’s just a matter of seeing who wins: HTML5, Flash, or both.
