EA unveiled some details on its upcoming SimCity Java ME revamp – SimCity Deluxe. The game uses the same framework as 2006′s Sim City, but has been seriously enhanced for the year 2010.

In addition to the improved game visuals (better graphics) with additional details added (shadows cast by clouds), there are also new animations that bring the city to life. For instance, aircrafts are freely buzzing around the skies and not even volcano can stop them — PocketGamer tried it, and the game doesn’t mimic the real world.

There are two modes to play – Freeplay and Scenario mode. The former removes all the restrictions allowing you to go beyond the wildest dreams. On the other hand, in the Scenario mode, there are pre-defined goals such as reaching a certain population level.

SimCity Deluxe also comes with a brand new help system, which assist you in getting around every function of the game. Simple press 1, 2 or 3 – and a large animated head will appear to give you all the details.

The game is set to be released on May 12th and will most definitely hit all the major carriers’ decks within days (if not immediately).
