HTC has launched its HD Mini in India. The HD2′s younger brother is launched on the heels of two other devices made by the Taiwanese company – Brew-based Smart and Android-powered Legend.

As you probably know, the HTC HD Mini comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, 5-megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, 384MB RAM coupled with 512MB ROM, microSD memory card slot, whereas Qualcomm’s 7227 600 MHz processor is providing all the power needed. The smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and most likely it will NOT be upgradable to Windows Mobile 7. So I wonder why would anyone want to grab the phone at this point when we know Microsoft will launch WinMo 7 within few months.

Anyway, HTC is asking 23,490 INR (about $519) for the Mini HD which is super expensive. Maybe if some carrier offers it on a contract and in case you really love Windows Mobile 6.5, you should grab it. Otherwise, wait for the first Windows 7 phones to arrive…
