If you’re an avid online video fan, you’ve probably already heard about blinkx, which is the most advanced video search engine on the Internet. They are “going mobile” with a launch of a public beta version of its product that is specifically designed for mobile access.

Located at m.blinkx.com, the new service works on all phones that can play MP4 files — including the iPhone, Google Nexus One, HTC Desire and Magic, and also the Blackberry Bold 9700 devices. The new site leverages blinkx’s network of top tier content partners to enable users to search, browse and play millions of videos from a wide range of broadcasters and media companies such as ITN, CelebTV, HowCast and Lonely Planet.

The mobile website features a blinkx Video Wall of nine thumbnails of the top stories from around the web, as well as one-click category browsing, and a large central search bar. The selected video is streamed to the user’s mobile phone and then played in MP4 format…
