The Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700 for Free?

Seeing as I’m in the market for a new BlackBerry, and I’ve been eyeing up the Bold 9700 for some time now (yes, in White!)… this is awesome news. That is, if you’re Canadian like me.

In some new images sent over to our pals at CrackBerry, it looks like some Rogers locations now have the BlackBerry Bold 9700 up for grabs, for FREE on a new 3-year contract! Crazy. Seems like just yesterday the device hit us at $299.99 on a 3-year term, with a drop to $99.99 on the same 3-year term hitting us not-so-long ago.

Granted, the image you see above from within a Rogers store could be a dealer’s sale price, but there’s every chance that the same sort of discount could be applied to the 9700 nationwide. We’ll have to keep our eyes and ears open for this. As of right now, the Rogers website still shows the Bold 9700 for $99.99.

Key features of the Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700 include:

  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with video and 2x zoom
  • 256 MB of internal memory (expandable to 32 GB via microSD)
  • 2.4″ (480×360) Transmissive TFT display
  • WiFi
  • GPS
  • Battery specs: 6 hours talk time, 18 days standby time
  • In the box: battery, micro USB cable, wired stereo headset, 2GB microSD card, holster, and folding blade travel charger

Stay tuned for more pricing updates on the Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have a sneaking suspicion the price drop could happen soon… very soon!
