There is absolutely no doubt that this summer is a hot one for smartphones – namely the iPhone 4 and HTC EVO 4G so far. Each handset has its legion of fanboys and fangirls, so it’s no surprise to us at IntoMobile that a few videos have been making their rounds on the web with the intent to annoy and infuriate the loyal in each camp. However, if you’re more passionate about mobile phones than you are about a particular brand or carrier, you’d just find the videos to be hilarious!
On one hand, the video in favor of the HTC EVO 4G makes some good points. The front and rear cameras on the EVO have higher resolutions than the respective cameras on the iPhone 4. The screen is much larger than the iPhone’s and you can make video calls without Wi-Fi. Perhaps its biggest gun against the iPhone is that it has 4G or WiMax, but the technology isn’t available everywhere just yet.
On the other hand, the iPhone has a much better quality camera than the EVO 4G. Its operating system is also more solid and reliable than Android in many ways, and the apps don’t force close quite as often as I’ve experienced on Android. The iPhone 4 has a battery life that, on paper, is nearly twice that of the EVO’s, but in practice it seems that the iPhone is actually getting three to four times better battery life than Sprint’s beloved WiMax device. And while its screen is smaller, the 960 x 640 retina display is plain damn impressive.
So where do you stand? Are you in the iPhone 4/iOS camp or the HTC EVO/Android side? Are you on the fence and hoping these hilarious videos will help you decide? Either way, you’ll have to admit that both videos make decent points and are at least good for a chuckle.
