Note-taking service Springpad that wants to make sense out of your notes announced the launch of “Alerts,” which are made to remind users on tasks, events, price drops, coupons, offers, local deals and breaking news associated with those items. In real life, it works like this:
- You add some note which let’s say talks about Guess shoes.
- Springpad is monitoring for prices of Guess shoes in the background.
- When it notices there’s some discount available, it alerts you about a great deal.
And of course, it’s not just the shoes but other items as well that could be put into this “shopping context.”
The service is launched in partnership with CSN Stores, allowing users to save money on anything they find at cookware.com simply by saving products that interest them on the site to their Springpad account. More merchants will be added in due course..
I like the idea of intelligent notes, but are there any privacy concerns? Or that’s basically the same way Google serves ads on your GMail account?
Sprinpad’s mobile app is available for your computer, iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
