Nokia E71 owners (a lot of you based on my many walks around the capital cities of several European countries), E66 owners, N97 Mini owners, and the poor souls who still call themselves N97 owners, should check for firmware updates.

The E71/E66 are now up to version 500.21.009 and includes things such as Ovi Maps 3.3 with free navigation built in, a new version of Quick Office, updates to the music player, and several bug fixes.

The N97 Fatty is up to version 22.0.110 and has improved C: disk usage, RAM optimizations, numerous bug fixes, and Ovi Maps 3.3 now installed by default. The N97 Mini is up to version 12 and has … well it’s just better.

Remember to back up, but really, my advice is to just start fresh. When it comes to Nokia devices, the only place I trust to keep my contacts is my SIM card.
