BlackBerry Death Grip Testing with Antenna Meter

Ever since Steve Jobs addressed the iPhone 4 Antennagate issue, many a BlackBerry user has cried foul. They didn’t believe the testing results that Apple carried out on their own terms. They didn’t believe the results… the loss of reception that Steve so aptly displayed couldn’t be true… could it? Now, with a little help from the folks at Xtreme Labs and Fixmo Tools, you can find out for yourself (keep reading, this is awesome!).

In a new app called ‘Antenna Meter’, you can put your ‘death grip‘ skills to the test. Just how many bars will you lose, if any? Antenna Meter will show you the cold hard numbers… Just like Steve Jobs loves so much. The numbers, it’s all about the numbers. To get started all you need to do is pop open the app and get your death grip ready (I suspect you’ll have some fun trying to figure out the best grip for loss of signal strength!). The app measures signal strength, so all you need to do is keep an eye on the screen to measure how much (if any) signal you lose. As a final cherry on top, your results can be easily shared via email.

So there you have it. If you want to test for yourself and provide the ‘hard numbers’, load up Antenna Meter to conduct your own testing. When done, share with your friends, colleagues, heck, even send your results to Apple (and maybe even RIM while you’re at it, no?). This is good stuff. If you try it out, be sure to share your results with us, would ya!? I’d very much love to hear the results from a variety of users. Which Berry device are you running, and what were the cold hard results!? Good or bad?
