Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530

Time for some official BlackBerry OS goodness. No leaks here, only the good stuff. Looks like OS 5.0.0.886 is now available for the BlackBerry Curve 8530, thanks to the good folks at Verizon Wireless. If you’re on an 8530, take note. I can’t tell you the exact rundown of what’s new in this build, but rest assured it’s got the usual whackload of bug fixes and tweaks to make it run real nice on your 8530. After all, Verizon wouldn’t give the build their blessing unless it was good stuff. To get started, you can hit up the download link below:

Even though this is an official release, please do take all necessary precautions before you download and install. Backup your device and say a little prayer to the BlackBerry gods before you move forward. After installation, if you notice anything new and/or noteworthy, feel free to drop me a note or leave a note here in the comments.

Happy OS updating, Curve 8530 users!

Note: If you’re an astute reader of IntoMobile, you’ll no doubt remember a leak of the very same OS hit us in late August. Good to see the official release.
