Zwink is an iPhone app that wants to replace your wingman

A company called Breadcrumbs released Zwink iPhone app, helping the introverts among us start the conversation. The “ice-breaking app” comes with 23 animated expressions designed for any situation in which words are simply not enough.

You simply start the app, pick a Zwink character and show the device to anyone around. Among Zwinks included there are the familiar happy, sad and angry emoticons, as well as few lively and original expressions of their own: the combative boxer, the hopeless romantic and the mischievous mooner who will not hesitate to playfully drop his pants when provoked.

Moreover, each Zwink does something different when poked or shaken, while sound effects only enhance the Zwink experience. By blowing into a device’s microphone, for instance, these little characters can be inflated just like a balloon, and eventually explode if overinflated.

In addition to approaching other people, Breadcrumbs suggests using Zwink when talking aloud is not possible or permissible…
