PBS NewsHour teams-up with AudioNow to bring its program to feature phone users

Like a dedicated iPhone app is not enough, PBS NewsHour is going for the mass market. The company has teamed with AudioNow to allow any feature phone user to access their popular program 24 hours a day by dialing 712-432-6610. Actually, you can dial that number even from a landline, but that’s not much of a point, right?

By dialing up the PBS NewsHour on AudioNow, listeners will hear an audio stream of the daily one-hour PBS NewsHour broadcast without downloads or accessing data services.

PBS NewsHour prides itself with “thoughtful, in-depth and balanced news reporting and analysis,” and tries to reach users through multiple channels. That said, you can also listen to PBS from their website, through their YouTube channel, via podcast and the mentioned iPhone app.

And for the record, PBS NEWSHOUR is seen five nights a week on more than 315 PBS stations across the country. The program is produced by MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, in association with WETA Washington, DC, and THIRTEEN/WNET in New York.
