Remember that somewhat nice lookin’ Acer Liquid Metal S120? The Android smartphone has been caught at the FCC playing nice on WCDMA II and V bands which perfectly fit AT&T’s 3G network. The test model S120 DVT2 relies on Qualcomm’s 800MHz MSM7230-1 CPU while running the latest version of Android OS – 2.2 Froyo. Rest of the specs include 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity and a 3.6-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) touchscreen.
With the upcoming Christmas shopping season I’m sure both Acer and AT&T will want to push this baby to the market ASAP – Acer wants a piece of the American pie, whereas AT&T wants to compete with Verizon’s Android portfolio.
We’ll be definitely watching closely for any press releases coming either out of Taiwan or Dallas (AT&T’s headquarters).
