The hit game Angry Birds for Android has just received an update that gives the application 45 new levels to play, bringing it up to par with the iPhone version of the game, Halloween version notwithstanding.
The update for the application brings us a new section, the Big Setup, which will likely be familiar to those who have played the game on the iPhone before. The Big Setup super-sizes the angry feathered avengers, making them more powerful to plow right through any obstacle. But since they are super-sized, you’re going to get less of them to complete a level. It’s rather simple and we doubt there will be any complaints about all the extra wasted time you’ll be getting.
The only thing about the Big Setup is that it’s rather easy to beat. The larger birds make it so easy that you likely won’t need to replay a level at all since it’s just so easy to win the first time around. Still, no complaints here, as the Big Setup is fun, and I’ll have fun beating it again on my Android phone since I ran through it so quickly on my iPod Touch. While Android didn’t get the Halloween version of the game, which is rather unimpressive, but still very playable, an extra 45 levels will do.
We hope to see more and more coming from Rovio in the coming months, especially with the upcoming Mighty Eagle releasing at some point. The Mighty Eagle will be an in-app purchase, and will beat a level you just can’t seem to beat, making it easier on you, and Rovio that much richer. Well played, Rovio, well played.
If you’ve yet to download Angry Birds yet, we suggested you do so, it’s free for Android. It’s also one of the best time killers around.
