4G HTC Thunderbolt Specs Leaked, Including Dual-Core Processor?

Pictures of the HTC Thunderbolt leaked a few days ago, with few specs other than LTE connectivity, but a whole batch of info on the unreleased device has made its way out of Germany recently. The particular processor mentioned hasn’t actually been released by Qualcomm yet, so take it all with a grain of salt.

  • 4.3-inch display 16.78 million colors
  • Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread
  • Qualcomm MSM8960 dual-core processor 1.2 GHz
  • 8-megapixel camera (primary)
  • 5-megapixel camera (secondary)
  • 1080p Full HD video recording and playback
  • GSM / Quad Band | GPRS / EDGE / 3G / HSPA / LTE
  • WLAN 802.11 b / g / n
  • Kickstand
  • Bluetooth
  • 16GB Internal Memory | Expansion per 128GB microSDXC
  • Battery 1800 mAh

We’re expecting the HTC Thunderbolt to land on Verizon, but according to the above screenshot, O2 and Vodafone in Europe are also going to be offering it at some point. The Thunderbolt certainly sounds like a beast of a device, and follows the dual-core precedent being set by RIM and LG. However, HTC stands a good chance at beating them both in the user interface department, seeing as how polished the Sense UI on top of Android is. It would definitely be nice to see this thing live at CES, but considering we’re only seeing the first signs of it now, it wouldn’t surprise me if the HTC Thunderbolt made its first public appearance at Mobile World Congress.
