Samsung unveiled a new member of its Bada family of devices – Wave 578. At first glance, it looks like the Wave 2 (Wave 528), but there’s more about it under the hood. We’re talking about the first NFC-enabled Bada product that should allow contactless payments and related services like door lock/unlock.

Specs wise, the Wave 578 comes with a 3.2-inch WQVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera for video calls, 3.6Mbps HSDPA and WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) connectivity, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 3.0, proximity and accelerometer sensors, FM radio, 1200mAh battery and a microSD memory card slot. As for the size, it measures 107.9×54.9×12.5 mm and has a weight of 99.8 grams.

When it comes to availability information, we don’t have all the details at the moment. We know Orange will offer the Samsung Wave 578 in few markets where it [Orange] plans to roll-out contactless payments. More on that in some other article…
