Hold on a minute. I thought Samsung is using home-made CPUs for its smartphones. The original Samsung Galaxy S relies on Hummingbird, whereas its successor (Galaxy S2) takes its power from dual-core Orion processor, which is also made by the Korean giant.

So what gives? Honestly – we’ve no idea. The device marked GT-I9103 is said to use Nvidia’s Tegra 2 CPU. From what I’ve understood, we’re talking about a Galaxy S2 variant, considering that the Galaxy S2 has model number GT-9100. Perhaps such a phone will be launched in select markets, perhaps not. We’ll keep our ears on the street and get back to you as soon as we hear a whisper. The Galaxy S smartphones contributed a lot in pushing high-end Android smartphones to the mainstream. It is expected that the company can repeat the success with the next-gen Galaxy S product. It definitely has what it takes to compete in today’s smartphone market…
