Tapper World Tour Will Soon Give iOS Gamers Their Fill of Classic Beer Serving Action

I’ve mentioned growing up at local arcades in the late 80’s / early 90’s many times when a classic game I remember from my childhood is getting an iOS version. I most recently mentioned my old arcade gaming roots with the news of Double Dragon getting an iOS remake, and it looks like I’ll be going down memory lane once again as one of the most classic arcade games from the early 80’s, Tapper, will be making its way to iOS soon.

Tapper, Beer Tapper, or Root Beer Tapper as the kid-friendly version of the game is known by has you playing as a bartender serving drinks to patrons as they make their way down your bar. At the end of each bar is a keg with a tap, which is where you’ll need to fill a mug and slide it down to the patron. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, at later levels of the game, the flood of customers begging for the sweet taste of a cold brewski may be overwhelming. Once a customer makes their way down to the end of the bar, they’ll slide you down the bar which will cause you to lose a life.

The new Tapper World Tour game is being published by Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and it’ll be getting some updated graphics that were drawn by Dragon Lair’s legendary artist, Don Bluth. Not only that, but WBDD promises the game will also feature “advanced gameplay,” although no specific information on how much more advanced a game whose main gameplay mechanic involves serving a number of alcoholics their poison of the day while collecting dirty beer mugs and tips. WBDD did release a trailer that shows a bit of the game in action, and judging by the trailer, it looks like you’ll be able to play as a new character, play mini-games, and watch some cinematics. They can add whatever they want to the game as long as they don’t touch the original, addictive gameplay mechanics.
