Until now Samsung hasn’t revealing how much it will ask for the Galaxy S2 smartphone. I always thought we’re talking about 600 or more EUR worth of hardware, and the good news is that I was wrong. The dual-core CPU-equipped device popped up at Swiss retailer Digitec with a price tag of 6900 CHF (which is about 548 EUR or $755). That’s still a lot but you should bear in mind this is the early price for those super-eagerly waiting to get their hands on the Galaxy S successor and thus don’t mind paying the premium to get the “early adopter bragging rights.” I’m sure the price will consequently go down pretty fast with major U.S. carriers offering it for $200 on a two-year contract.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the Android 2.3 Gingerbread-powered smartphone with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capability, 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, dual-core 1Gz processor, GPS, sensors and so on…
