My Taptu for iPhone

Taptu, the social media and mobile technology company which we know for their visual search product, updated its social news reader My Taptu. The main new thing of this release (version 1.3) is a new capability that lets users “DJ the news” by curating and creating their own content mixes from thousands of news sources.

The application is made to put all of your interests in one place – from your social network streams to web sites, content sources and blogs. You can either build a stream from scratch by selecting and merging feeds together from My Taptu’s so called StreamStore, Bing RSS search and your Google Reader accounts; Or edit the built-in curated topic streams by removing and adding the sources you want featured. Once you’re done with creating a stream, you can watch the stories flow.

Also new in My Taptu 1.3 is the ability to reply and retweet inside the Twitter stream without having to leave the app, as well as an all new Facebook Stream with only the links that your friends share.

Finally the mentioned StreamStore is now “streamlined” so that each time you visit it, My Taptu will remember which streams you’ve added and hide them on your next visit, displaying new streams instead…
