
LG Optimus Black, which is one of the thinnest Android smartphones announced to date, is heading to T-Mobile UK, which will offer it for free on a contract starting from later this month. According to CoolSmartphone, the Deutsche Telekom-owned operator will ask users to commit on a contract that costs at least 25.54 GBP a month. Alternatively, those who don’t like signing carrier contracts can always grab the Optimus Black from Expansys — the price is 399 GBP (463 EUR), but the shipping date is set for April.
In related news, the LG’s baby has been announced in Singapore, where it will be offered for 768 SGD (about $607 or 432 EUR) sans any strings attached. That’s 120 SGD less than the price of the NVIDIA Tegra 2-powered Optimus 2X and somehow makes perfect sense — that dual-core processor easily costs that much more, plus it doesn’t integrate some other radios Qualcomm’s Snapdragon (used in the Optimus Black) does…
