One would think there’s a lack of high-quality games for the Android platform when we have companies like OpenFeint supporting developers in porting their apps to Google’s mobile platform. Now another social gaming ecosystem is taking the same route – Scoreloop, which launched the “Go Android” partnership program designed to help top iOS developers bring their hit games to Android.
As part of the deal, Scoreloop wows to “remove the operational, legal and financial overheads of porting games from one platform to another.” As a result, developers get to reach a new audience without the time and resourcing hassle that comes along with porting. Finally gamers on their end benefit from having more cross-platform games to enjoy and share the gaming experience with friends.
Launch partners include Geared and Toobz, which were collectively downloaded over 20 million times on iOS and will be available on the Android Market in just a week. Along with their Android versions, cross-platform play will also be made available through updated iOS apps at the same time…
