Zong expands its mobile payments platform to any mobile phone

Zong is expanding its mobile payments platform to include pretty much any mobile phone and other connected devices. Previously available for HTML and on Android, developers can now integrate Zong’s simple mobile payments service in nearly any environment, including Flash, Unity, Interactive TV, gaming consoles and the mobile web.

In order to do so, developers only need to collect the mobile number from the user and let Zong do its magic by verifying the phone number with a text message, and completing the billing transaction on the consumer’s mobile phone bill or prepaid mobile account.

In the other news, Zong also announced that its 1-touch in-app payment system on Android is now also available on Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets, creating a seamless experience for users with no registration or login required. The Zong platform automatically verifies the user, bills their mobile phone account and returns them to their application or game without delay…
