Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet made by LG

Well folks T-Mobile is inching closer to the G-Slate launch and now we know the amount they plan to charge for LG’s Android-powered tablet. It’s $529.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate card with a “qualifying mobile broadband plan on two-year agreement.” In other words, it’s not just a small fortune, but a small fortune on a contract.

To be fair, the G-Slate is probably one of the best tablets in its class, allowing users to record 3D video. It comes with perfectly sized 8.9-inch screen, HSPA+ and WiFi connectivity, while Android 3.0 Honeycomb is running the show. In terms of pre-installed stuff, T-Mobile will bundle few apps with the G-Slate — including T-Mobile TV, Need for Speed SHIFT HD and Zinio eReader.

We can only hope the WiFi-only version, presuming it’s ever released, will cost below $500, requiring no contract signing at all…
