Apple is set to deliver its iPad 2 in multiple new countries this week and this is great news for tablet lovers in places like Japan. But after a quarter where the company couldn’t make enough tablets to keep up its demand, what will this do to wait times?
Starting April 29, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE will be able to purchase the WiFi version of the Apple iPad 2 and the prices will vary by region but these shouldn’t vary much from the standard prices we’re seeing. China will also get the device in early May and the Asian markets have been a major growth area for Apple.
The company sold 4.69 million iPad 2 units last quarter and some of the analysts were actually disappointed with that number. Of course, the Motorola Xoom would kill to have these sales figures but Apple literally couldn’t make any more in the quarter.
Hopefully, it has figured out its production issues and the wait times won’t be impacted by these new markets.
