Mobile messaging app HeyWire for Android just got a big update. Without further ado, here’s what’s included in this release (version 2.0):

  • SmartSMS – disables sound notifications and sends auto responses during those times you’d rather not be bothered, like when you’re driving, flying, sleeping, or just need a little time off the grid.
  • Gtalk support – which allows you to chat with your GMail friends while on the go. Plus, the Online Buddies screen lets users see which friends are online on each chat service.
  • TweetNow – provides access to the HeyTweets feature in one tap, allowing users to quickly and easily send out Tweets via SMS on HeyWire.
  • Share Content via HeyWire – now you can share content with friends using the built in “share via” dialog on Android, with the added support for HeyWire.
  • Features Menu – thanks to HeyWire’s new user interface you can quickly access commonly used features such as Tweet Now, Tell-A-Friend, SmartSMS, and much more.

Finally, it is said that HeyWire for Android 2.0 is the only free texting app that works on the Motorola Xoom…
