UK: The Carphone Warehouse asks 800 GBP for the LG Optimus Pad! [outrageous]

Let’s say you live in the UK and that you really fancy the LG Optimus Pad. I don’t blame you, I find it to be just the right size and I’ll probably go for the one as soon as it’s released (or I’ll grab for the Galaxy Tab 8.9). However, I am not (repeat NOT) willing to pay 800 GBP to get it. That’s $1,319, which is a price of the MacBook Air. And that’s how much The Carphone Warehouse is asking for LG’s tablet at the moment. Sure it’s a SIM-free deal and sure enough it ain’t gonna attract a bunch of people, quite the contrary.

The best version of the Apple iPad 2 costs less so I’m not sure what’s the idea here. To rob the first few early adopting suckers? Something’s definitely wrong here, either with LG or The Carphone Warehouse. Either way – don’t go for it. Wait a month or so and then act. Most likely some of UK’s carriers will offer the Optimus Pad (or some other tablet you may fancy) for next to nothing with a contract…
