When we look at the ViewQuest Slate2, it looks like yet another Android tablet made by a smaller company. To be fair, it comes with a “not that often used” 8-inch screen, but the rest of the specs are pretty much on par with what we’ve seen on other tablets that were not made by Samsungs, HTCs and Motorolas of the world.
However, this baby may actually sell in millions or at least hundreds of thousands. The reason is simple – British Tesco is selling the device across its network of supermarkets throughout the UK, and who knows — if they succeed to move a decent number of units — the Slate2 may end-up on Tesco’s store shelves outside of Britain.
Specs wise, the Slate2 rocks the mention 8-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, front-facing camera (most likely VGA), Telechips 8902 720MHz processor, HDMI output, Wi-Fi connectivity and a memory card slot. For some strange reason, Android 2.1 Éclair is running the show. All this could be yours for 199 GBP, which is about $323.
