New Galaxy S 2 ad shows why you need a dual-core processor

As if we weren’t sold on the Samsung Galaxy S 2 already, a new ad has appeared to show off one of the best features of the hot handset. This time around Samsung is showcasing the blazing fast dual-core processor of the Galaxy S 2 and why you need it over the standard single core processors of today.

The ad is simple and to the point: two cores is better than one. Samsung shows off the advantages of the Galaxy S 2’s dual-core processor in some interesting ways, though. From choppy scrolling to pushing a large amount of people down one tube, Samsung is really attempting to show just how inferior single core processors are, even if they are in a majority of the manufacturer’s handsets today.

Even with all the great hardware that’s coming down the pipe in the next few months, the Galaxy S 2 still stands on top. It’s ultra thin design packs a punch that its competitors haven’t come close to. Sammy has become the Apple of Android (in more ways than one) when it comes to Google’s OS, and devices from Motorola and HTC may have similar specs, but lack the design aesthetic, not the mention a Super AMOLED Plus display you’ll only find on Samsung products at the moment.

While we like this ad, it’s not as convincing as some of the others we’ve seen for this handset before. Virtually every new high-end smartphone will be shipping with a dual-core processor of some sort and in that respect, the Galaxy S 2 is just another one to add to the list. We still enjoy the silly ad that shows off the thinness of the device, and we hope to see more along the way, especially when Sammy decides to announce the US availability of the phone.

Who is holding out for the Galaxy S 2?
