Last year Hertz unveiled its iPhone app and now they are going for the rest of the (smartphone) market. In partnership with Grapple Mobile, European branch of the car rental company launched three new free apps for Android, Symbian (Nokia) and Blackberry devices, allowing users to reserve a car, change their reservation or log-in and update their profile — all while on the go.

In addition, there’s the ability to save your Hertz #1 Club Member Number and have it added to your Hertz reservations. Special Hertz deals are also included as well as the GPS-enabled search for local Hertz office.

Commenting on the app launch, Michel Taride (President Hertz International and Executive VP Hertz Corporation) said: “With the rise of smartphones, more and more people – both in business and pleasure – are booking and managing their rentals on mobile sites. Our iPhone app has proven to be extremely popular globally, and we’re really excited to be adding these new apps so that those using Android, Nokia and Blackberry handsets can access the same benefits and easy booking solutions on the move…”
