Nearly 5 million points. That’s what the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro just pulled in AnTuTu Benchmark V11, and if that number means anything close to real-world performance, flagship Android phones in late 2026 are going to feel like a serious leap forward.
According to Android Headlines, the score of 4,835,412 comes from a post on X by leaker Abhishek Yadav, who shared early benchmark results from AnTuTu V11. For context, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, tested inside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, scored 3,453,998. So we’re looking at roughly a 40 percent jump over Qualcomm’s current top chip. That’s not a small bump. That’s a serious generational step.
Qualcomm is reportedly planning two versions of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6: a standard model and a Pro variant. The Pro is the one getting all the attention, and for good reason. It’s said to include 5GHz cores, a new GPU believed to be the Adreno 850, and AI-powered FPS upscaling aimed at mobile gamers. So this isn’t just a chip for running apps faster. Qualcomm is clearly coming after the mobile gaming crowd in a big way.
The timing matters too. Qualcomm’s annual Summit is coming up in October, which is when the company is expected to officially show off the new chips. Devices using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro are still months away, but the OnePlus 16 has been floated as one of the first phones to carry it, with a launch window around that same October period.
And where does the competition stand? Yadav says MediaTek’s comparable flagship chip is expected to land around 4.5 million in AnTuTu. That puts it behind Qualcomm, but not embarrassingly so. MediaTek has been closing the gap for a few years now, and that trend isn’t stopping. Still, Qualcomm is clearly holding the top spot for now.
Benchmark scores don’t always tell the full story. Thermal performance, software optimization, and sustained load all matter once a chip is inside an actual phone. But a jump this size in raw numbers is genuinely hard to dismiss. If you’re planning to buy a flagship Android phone in late 2026 or early 2027, it might be worth holding off to see what this chip can actually do in hand.
