Good news for you Inspire 4G owners, as the giant-sized Android smartphone is getting 2.3 Gingerbread as an over-the-air update as we speak.

You should know the drill by now but if you want to check if your device gets the update, go into Settings, hit the AT&T Software Update, HTC WiFi software update and then hit the “Check now” button. It was supposed to be rolling out since the 4th but our friends over at Phandroid said it’s rolling out rapidly to lots of users.

With a 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz processor and an 8-megapixel camera, the Inspire 4G is quite a powerful smartphone. Along with the Gingerbread version of the platform, the update will also improve power, media, fix some bugs, add new features to the FriendStream service and more. Have you gotten Gingerbread on your Inspire 4G yet?
