According to a recent study by research and consulting firm YouGov, almost half of iPhone owners are open to making mobile payments in the UK. More precisely, 46% of iPhone owning respondents are willing to pay bills using their iPhone, 62% would transfer funds from one account to another, 69% would check account balances and 45% would make payments to other people. However, when asked about contactless payments, they haven’t felt the same comfort with only 31% of respondents feeling safe to conduct NFC-based transactions.
That’s an awesome news for companies like Square and iZettle which offer credit card processing accessories (and an accompanying software) for iPhone owners.
When compared to other smartphone users, those with the iPhone are more open to mobile payments, though quite a few of Android and BlackBerry owners want this capability, too. Age also played a factor with younger people reporting a greater likelihood to use such services…
