According to the UK mobile phone retailer Clove, the Motorola Pro has been delayed until “mid-late September.” We have no idea why this is the case and can only speculate Motorola is having hard time with its supply chain.
If you recall, the Motorola Pro is a candybar-shaped, QWERTY keyboard-equipped Android smartphone a la BlackBerry and in that sense should get some love from a number of folks who are transitioning from RIM’s to Google’s platform. In addition, it also comes with a single-core 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capability, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen and a memory card slot. Android 2.2 Froyo is running the show though it’s safe to bet the Gingerbread update will be released shortly.
As for the price, the unlocked, SIM-free Motorola Pro is at the moment available for 420 GBP (about $694) which is kinda lot. Then again, I’m sure the price will go down the second the device starts selling…
