HTC holding an event in London on October 6th, there’s a good chance we’ll see new devices

HTC has been sending out members of the UK press an invite for a “press conference and party” that’s due to take place on the 6th of October in London. There’s no fancy photo invitation like the one HTC sent out for their event that’s going to be starting later today in New York City, so we don’t think it’s going to be as important … but is that an unfair assumption? It’s all really hard to tell since we don’t know what HTC is going to show off today. We’re expecting to see three Android handsets. The Bliss, which will likely be called the Rhyme, a device that’s targeted towards the ladies. The Runnymede, which is basically the HTC Titan that was announced at IFA, but instead of Windows Phone it’ll run Android. And finally the Vigor, which is what the HTC Sensation should have been, a device with 1 GB of RAM, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, HD screen, and pretty much every single bell and whistle you can fit inside a smartphone.

If HTC announced all three of those devices in New York, then the only thing they can really show off in Europe are the European versions of those handsets. That seems like a bit of a waste though, to host an event a full 2 weeks after an event in America just to reveal the same devices. We hope we’re wrong and get to see something genuinely new. It’s also kind of dangerous for HTC to host an event in October since they’ll be competing for attention with Apple and Nokia. The former is expect to announce and ship the iPhone 5 during that month, the latter will be unveiling their first device, or devices, running Windows Phone.

Anyway, what kind of handset would you like to see HTC come out with?
