Meizu, a China-based company, announced on the Meizu forums that two variants of the upcoming Meizu MX smartphones will be released in China some time late this month and one of these Android phones will be packing a quad-core processor!

There will be two completely different Meizu MX models, one is a dual-core with 16 gigabytes of internal storage and is expected to cost CNY3,999 (US$626). Second, is the quad-core model with 32 gigabytes of internal storage and will command a price of CNY4,999 (US$780), and both models will use A9 processors. Meizu also confirmed that both handsets will bear 4.0-inch touchscreens with display resolution of 960×640.

Unfortunately, we’re not too sure about much else with this device, as it’s almost guaranteed that this won’t hit the United States in a non-super-duper expensive form. Still, a quad-core phone with this type of display will always get us out of the bed in the morning.
