LG and Verizon have announced a new, simple slider called the Enlighten. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 3.2 320 x 480 touchscreen, 800 MHz processor, a 3.2 megapixel camera on the back, and of course a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It’s not quite the slim Optimus slider announced in Japan, but the reasonable pricetag, and solid keyboard are both bonuses in my books.
The last time LG offered something in this tier for Verizon was the LG Ally, which we gave a reasonably good review. I was actually a big fan of the updated version that came to Canada, since the thing was built like a tank.
The Enlighten will be available online tomorrow, and will be in Verizon stores proper starting September 29 for $79.99 on a two-year contract after rebates. Keep an eye on the Verizon online store for the first signs of the LG Enlighten starting September 22.
