Gees, Samsung is on a roll when it comes to phones, as today the Korean-based company announced the launch of the Samsung Omnia W, its first smartphone based on the latest release of Microsoft’s Windows Phone Mango. The Samsung Omnia W will be priced at about €310 before taxes and subsidies.

The Omnia W sports a 3.7-inch 800×480 Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz processor, VGA webcam on the front and rear 5MP camera with 720p video recording, and a integrated 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity. These specs is similar to that of HTC’s Radar, with the exception of a slightly faster processor on the Samsung device, 1.4GHz compared to the Radar’s 1 GHz. The Radar is also a little more expensive at about €399.

Other Windows Phone goodies include the Picture Hub, Music and Video Hub as well as the Game Hub. If you love music then you should know that Music Hub is powered by the Zune, which means you can sign up for the Zune Pass and have on the go access to just about any track you want to play.

This is an important time for Microsoft, as it prepares to launch new Windows Phone-based products from HTC, Samsung and later this year, Nokia. The software giant has a long ways to go when it comes to snatching away consumer mindset from the likes of Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS.
