Recycling companies are looking forward to the hot shopping season with many folks getting new gadgets for the Christmas. Staples wants a piece of that action too, hence it has partnered with Gazelle to make it easy for its customers to sell off their old phones and other consumer electronics.

The new Staples Tech Trade-In program allows small businesses and consumers to trade in eligible used electronics and receive a Staples eGift card for use at any Staples store nationwide.

Staples on its end will accept the trade-in of used electronics from more than 20 product categories regardless of where they were purchased. Even if the gadget you have doesn’t have a trade-in value, you can still send it to Gazelle or brought it the nearest Staples store for recycling.

Here’s how it works:

  • Visit Staples Tech Trade-In program’s website
  • Get an offer on your used electronics by answering a few quick questions.
  • Ship your items for free.
  • Receive a Staples eGift card delivered to your email address for the total value of your items (usually 7 days of an item being received).
  • Shop at any Staples store with your eGift card.

It’s that easy!
