Well, we finally got our hands on the LG Nitro HD and we’re pretty impressed with this 4G LTE device on AT&T.

The first thing you’ll notice is the 4.5-inch True HD IPS display which can deliver 720p resolution. At the LG event in New York, the company was showing it against a competing Samsung device and the Nitro HD really blew it out of the water. It appears that was a Galaxy S II though, so we’ll have to see how it stacks up to other 720p screens like the one on the Galaxy Nexus or the Rezound.

Inside, the Nitro HD is packing a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and that should be plenty of horsepower for running apps and surfing the web. It will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread but LG insists the device is ready for Ice Cream Sandwich, so let’s hope we won’t have to wait too long. On the back, you have that textured finish and an 8-megapixel camera – let’s hope LG can keep on par with Apple, Samsung and HTC in terms of high-quality camera.

While AT&T’s 4G LTE network is still pretty limited, this phone looks to be a great device no matter what market you’re in. We’ll be reviewing the device soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

Update: Enjoy the hardware and software videos and look for the full review shortly.

I could see, down the road, buying such a device, and just get a touch, or a nano, don’t need everything on my phone, but 95% of my library is drm free or whatever, I only have maybe a hundred dollars worth of stuff on iTunes that would require the 29 cent upgrade so they would work with Double Twist, and I could live without many of those. As a mac guy, (mac mini) I found Doubletwist a little buggy two years ago, but one could keep a nano around, love the seamless integration with iTunes that iPhone offers, but that is the great dilemma. And how they (Apple) keep you. FearofabandoningiTunesphobia. But I’m a full-time student 54, older 70′s rock guy, young people often have massive libraries, in my case, it’s a slam dunk, but you do have the same phone as me, Marin, so that DOES speak volumes, and two phones is well……a LITTLE extravagant. But man, these are very powerful tools, needed to send headphones back to manufacturer for service, forgot the address, whip the phone out, bam, even called them to make sure I was sending it to the right address, even though it was a smaller company, they do have a couple of addresses…..growing up using encyclopedias to do research, and calling 411, it is amazing how we have marched ahead, technology-wise. It is a beautiful phone indeed.

Have you tried out Google Music?  You can connect it up to iTunes, let it sync, and then stream all of your music to your device and not use any of the storage space.  This phone looks awesome, LG is really stepping their game up!
