Good news for those of you with Cellcom’s Motorola Milestone X smartphone – your carrier has finally started rolling out Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates. It should be available as we speak, though if you still haven’t been prompted to update, hit “Settings,” then “About phone” and finally “Software update.” Heck, even if you don’t see it there at this moment, don’t worry – you’ll get it in the next few days.

Aside from packing all of the Gingerbread bells and whistles, software version 4.5.604.en.US also brings increased battery life, new download management application, as well as improvements for several apps like calendar, camera, contacts and security.

Ready? Meaning is your battery fully charged, are you connected to a fast Wi-Fi hot-spot, and is all your information safely backed-up on your PC? If so, tap the “update” button now and take it from there. It’s a 104.9 MB heavy download so some patience is needed. Good luck! 😉
