Remember that Samsung’s dual-screen clamshell SCH-W999? It’s officially announced for China Telecom and that means now we have more information to share. The device that reminds me on many Japanese phones will comes with two 3.5-inch S-AMOLED WVGA (800×480 pixels) touchscreens, two SIM card slots, Qualcomm’s MSM8660 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera on the back.
Price was not unveiled but since it has two touchscreens, one thing is certain – it won’t be affordable. Quite the contrary, I would expect it to sell for about $600, meaning it won’t be an Average Joe’s phone of choice.
Now I would really like to play with the SCH-W999 though I’m not sure that additional screen adds that much value. Guess we’ll have to wait for the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to tell you more about it. Stay tuned.
