Waze brings traffic reporting to your TV

Don’t be surprised if you see Waze on your big-screen TV soon, as the social traffic app has announced a partnership with 12 television stations to assist in real-time TV traffic reporting.

In many ways, the partnership is a match made in heaven. Waze has over 9 million users who are reporting real-time traffic information and delivering the traffic news is a vital part of many of these early-morning news shows. I’m so glad that I work from home nowadays, as I used to hate facing those miserable commutes.

Still, this deal should help you avoid some of those pitfalls, as Waze can tell you where there’s traffic, unsafe road conditions and more. I’d expect more and more local stations to look into deals like this to better utilize mobile technology to deliver relevant information to audiences. You can download the Waze apps here.
